Cabela’s Now Open at Highland Commons Shopping Center

Mar 30, 2015

Cabela’s has opened its first store in Massachusetts at the Benderson Development-owned Highland Commons Shopping Center in Hudson-Berlin. The weeklong celebration kicked-off with the grand-opening ribbon being cut by an arrow shot from a bow by a local Cabela’s employee. More than 3,500 customers attended the grand opening which featured entertainment, gift card and product giveaways, a drawing for a $1,000 Cabela’s shopping spree, and guest appearances. The sprawling 100,000-square-foot store features more than 30 authentic and taxidermied animals native to the area on display, and an aquarium and trout pond with live fish. The focal point is a floor-to-ceiling mountain replica, depicting the wildlife in action – a feature found in all of the store’s 66 locations nationwide. The store also has a deli, offering exotic meats and homemade fudge, and a gun library. Cabela’s joins a host of national retailers currently at Highland Commons Shopping Center including T.J. Maxx, Market Basket, Michael’s, Dress Barn, ULTA, Lane Bryant, PetSmart, Party City, Famous Footwear, Lowe’s and BJ’s Wholesale Club. Other stores coming soon to the nearly 1 million-square-foot regional power center include Bed Bath & Beyond, Five Below, Verizon Wireless and Sally Beauty. Cabela’s, headquartered in Sidney, Nebraska, is a leading specialty retailer, and the world’s largest direct marketer of hunting, fishing, camping and related outdoor merchandise.
